Elizabeth (Beth) Gibbs has held legal positions of increasing responsibility in both New York law firms and public and private companies located in New York City and Atlanta. Prior to assuming her role as General Counsel of the Woodruff Arts Center, Gibbs served as the Vice President and General Counsel for Aaron’s Inc., where she was a member of the company’s senior executive leadership team, responsible for all legal and governmental affairs. Additionally, Gibbs served on the company’s Employee Benefits Committee and as an officer and director for the company’s subsidiaries.
Prior to assuming the role at Aaron’s, Gibbs served as Corporate Counsel, Business Operations/Merchandising for Home Depot, Inc. and as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary for The Athlete’s Foot Stores, LLC. Gibbs is a recipient of the 2010 Business to Business Magazine’s “Women of Excellence” Award and named as one of Georgia Trend Magazine’s 2012 “Legal Elite” for corporate law.
Gibbs currently serves on the Advisory Board of Atlanta Celebrates Photography. Gibbs also is a member of On Board, an organization whose mission is to increase the number of women who serve as executive officers and board members for public companies. Gibbs holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Franklin & Marshall College and a Juris Doctor degree from Boston University School of Law, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Boston University International Law Journal.
