Michael Cottenden

Michael Cottenden has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Michael started their career in 2014 with a co-op role as a Product Management Assistant at JSI Telecom, where they were responsible for developing applications and managing various tasks.

In 2015, they returned to JSI Telecom as an IT Consultant and Software Application Developer, where they elicited business requirements, programmed in VBA, and focused on UI/UX design. Michael also supervised a junior co-op student during this time.

In 2016, Michael joined ACS Athletics as a Technical Implementation Specialist, working with databases, providing real-time support, and programming queries in SQL. Michael also worked closely with company stakeholders to provide quality assurance for new software releases.

Michael continued with ACS Athletics in 2016 as a Project Manager, acting as the Product Solutions Consultant. Michael took over a product management role and their performance was highly regarded by their direct manager.

From 2017 to 2023, Michael held various positions at different companies. Michael started as an Information System & Business Process Analyst at Zenith Insurance Company, where they initiated projects to improve internal business processes and presented data-backed recommendations to the company's executives.

During an internship at Apple in 2017, Michael worked as a Project Manager and developed information systems to automate demand aggregation and centralize data collection and transformation.

In 2018, Michael joined Front Rush as a Product Manager and Team Supervisor, where they were awarded Employee of the Year for their collaboration and leadership on company-wide projects and process improvements. Michael was responsible for product roadmaps and overseeing software development teams.

In 2019, they joined KranionAI as a Product Manager and Lead Developer of the Mobile Platform. As a key member of the startup, they defined and executed the product roadmap and led software development for the mobile platform.

Lastly, in 2023, Michael joined Retention.com as an Engineering Project Manager.

From 2013 to 2018, Michael Cottenden attended the University of Waterloo, where they pursued a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Engineering/Industrial Management.
