Uraia Makulau is an accomplished professional currently serving as an Analyst at the Reserve Bank of Fiji, where responsibilities include ensuring customer protection and effective grievance redress within regulated financial institutions since February 2022. Additionally, Uraia lectures in Revenue & Taxation Law and Property Law at The University of Fiji from March 2023. Uraia also contributes as a member of the IUCN World Commission on Environmental Law, focusing on strengthening environmental law and policy. Previous roles include serving on the Young Professionals Committee for IMPAC5 and in disaster law with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. Uraia's early career featured positions as a Legal Consultant and Rapporteur in environmental organizations, a Paralegal in public prosecution, and a Control Room Officer in a security firm.
