Cody Cox

MET Tower Manager at Renewable Energy Systems

Cody Cox has a significant amount of work experience in the renewable energy industry. Cody started their career at the University of Oklahoma as a Research Assistant in 2004.

In 2005, they joined Renewable Energy Systems Americas Inc. as a Wind Data Analyst and worked in this role until 2006. Cody then moved up to the role of Wind Data Specialist II, where they worked from 2006 to 2008.

Cody then transitioned into the role of Instrumentation Engineer at Renewable Energy Systems Americas Inc. in 2008 and held this position until 2010. During this time, they were responsible for the design, specification, and installation of heavy current power monitoring systems for utility-scale wind turbines and meteorological towers.

Following this role, Cody became a Senior Instrumentation Engineer at Renewable Energy Systems Americas Inc. from 2010 to 2015. As a Senior Instrumentation Engineer, they had overall responsibility for instrumentation activities related to wind turbine power performance assessment and site calibration campaigns.

In 2015, Cody took on the role of Senior Instrumentation Engineer (Offshore) - RES Measurement Services at Renewable Energy Systems Americas Inc. Their duties included managing day-to-day operation and maintenance activities for offshore meteorological masts and aids to navigation systems, as well as installation and maintenance of offshore LiDARs and associated power supplies.

Most recently, Cody has been working as the MET Tower Manager at Renewable Energy Systems Americas Inc. since December 2016.

Cody Cox began their education at Iowa State University in 1999 and completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology in 2004. In 2002, they also attended Fort Lewis College for a year, studying Business Administration and Management.

In addition to their formal education, Cody has obtained numerous certifications throughout their career. In 2010, they received a certification in Wind Turbines Working at Height & Rescue from the Global Wind Organisation. In 2012, they obtained a Construction Site Operative certification from the CONSTRUCTION SKILLS CERTIFICATION SCHEME LIMITED.

Cody also holds several certifications related to offshore and marine safety. These include a Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training (BOSIET) certification from OPITO, an Offshore Medical certification from AbleMed Health Ltd, and a Marine Safety Training for RUK certification from RenewableUK.

Cody has also received various certifications related to specific skills and knowledge, such as Tower Climbing, Rescue, and RF Awareness from heightec, GWO - Sea Survival from the Global Wind Organisation, GWO - Fire Awareness from the Global Wind Organisation, GWO - First Aid - Wind Turbines from the Global Wind Organisation, GWO - Manual Handling from the Global Wind Organisation, and Confined Space Awareness from Maersk Training.

Cody Cox's education and certifications reflect a strong focus on industrial technology, business administration, and safety measures, particularly in the offshore and renewable energy sectors.
