Katy Wellington has a diverse work experience. Katy has worked as a Product Designer at Regrow Ag since May 2021, where they are responsible for building workflows for the FluroSense platform and creating communication content. Prior to that, they worked as a Web Designer/UX UI Designer at Trolley Web from June 2020 to May 2021.

In 2019, Katy worked at Bloc as a UX/UI Designer & Front-End Developer. During their time there, they completed projects that involved research, strategy, branding, and UX design for CloudEd, a cloud storage app and desktop site for educators. Katy also worked as a Science Teacher/Entrepreneurial Leadership Teacher at Aspen Academy from August 2019 to June 2020.

Before joining the tech and education industry, Katy worked as a Freelance Visual Designer at Lincoln (Mobile Start-Up) from December 2019 to March 2020. Katy also had experience as a Climbing Coach at Kent Denver School from November 2018 to February 2020.

Katy's teaching experience includes being a Sixth Grade Science Teacher at Denver Public Schools from August 2016 to July 2019, where they taught various science subjects and worked collaboratively with grade level and department teams. Katy also worked as a Science Teacher at Montgomery County Public Schools from August 2015 to June 2016, where they taught a range of science and history subjects and was involved in extracurricular activities.

In terms of their academic background, Katy worked as a Sustainability Advisor and Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Maryland. Katy'sresearch assistant role involved working for the UMD College of Education Department of Teaching and Learning, Policy and Leadership, and the College of Education Elementary Education program.

Outside of their professional career, Katy served as a Snore and Roar Host at Friends of the National Zoo in 2015.

Overall, Katy Wellington has a strong background in product design, web design, teaching, and research, with experience in various industries such as agriculture, technology, and education.

Katy Wellington obtained their Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Climate Change Education and Science Education from the University of Maryland, where they studied from 2013 to 2015. Prior to that, they earned their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Elementary Education with a focus on Environmental Education from the same university, completing their studies from 2009 to 2013.

Additionally, Katy Wellington has obtained several certifications. In June 2016, they obtained the Colorado Educator Certification from the Denver Public Schools. In January 2014, they received the Maryland Educator Certificate from the Maryland State Department of Education.

Furthermore, Katy Wellington has acquired various certifications related to web design and user experience (UX). In June 2020, they obtained the certifications in Accessibility for Web Design and UX Foundations: Accessibility from LinkedIn. Katy also obtained a certification in UX/UI Design from Bloc during the same month in the year 2020.
