Alexis Felder has a diverse range of work experience, starting in 2006. Most recently, from December 2014 to May 2022, they worked at RefugePoint, first as an Associate Director of Communications, and then as a Senior Communications Manager. In these roles, they were responsible for designing and implementing the organization's communications plan, managing social media and websites, and developing materials for development and marketing efforts. Prior to that, Alexis worked as an Artist in Residence at Akumal International Artist Residency in Mexico, where they focused on creating art projects that raised awareness about the impact of plastic on marine ecosystems. They also have experience in web and communications coordination at Harvard Law School, communications and project coordination at Health Resources in Action, and communications specialization and program coordination at Tufts University. Additionally, Alexis has worked as an English tutor and proofreader as an independent consultant. Earlier in their career, they served as a Peace Corps TEFL Volunteer in Kyrgyzstan, taught health workshops as a Marketing and Communications Intern at Our Bodies Ourselves, and interned at the Pottruck Family Foundation, where they created marketing materials and managed conference registrations.
Alexis Felder completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Spanish from Simmons University from 2003 to 2007. Later, from 2011 to 2014, they acquired a Graphic Design Certificate from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, focusing on Graphic Design. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained the "Preventing Discrimination & Harassment: US Managers V4.01" certification from Traliant in June 2022. Alexis also holds a Graphic Design Certificate from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, although the specific month of completion is not provided.
