Douglas Schatz has a diverse work experience, beginning in 2011 as a Campaign Assistant for Fight for the Future, where they assisted in organizing campaigns and ran social media accounts. In 2013, they began working as a Motion Graphic Artist for Hearst, where they made animated gifs for Cosmopolitan and Esquire social media accounts and editorial articles, as well as videos for Cosmopolitan's Snapchat Discover channel. In 2017, they began working as a Video Producer for Sniff & Barkens, where they produced videos for their social media accounts and redesigned motion branding. In 2022, they began working as a Full Stack Engineer for Upright Education, where they engineered an easily deployable full-stack ticketing app for the cybersecurity consulting firm Reveal Risk. Douglas is currently working as a Software Developer for Refbin.

Douglas Schatz completed a High School degree at the University School of Nashville from 2003 to 2007. Douglas then obtained a Bachelor of Arts - BA in Legal Studies, General from Hampshire College between 2007 and 2011. In August 2022, Douglas Schatz completed a Software Development Bootcamp from Burlington Code Academy and obtained four certifications from Upright Education: Express MongoDB Back-end Development, Full-time Bootcamp Completion, JavaScript Development Foundations, and React Front-end Development.
