Ian Symonds serves as the Deputy Vice Chancellor and Dean of Medicine at International Medical University since June 2021. Additionally, Ian Symonds holds the title of Dean of Education at the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists since November 2021, after previously serving as Vice President from November 2016 to November 2021. Ian Symonds was a Visiting Medical Specialist at Womens and Childrens Hospital Adelaide from November 2015 to May 2021 and held the position of Head of School at Adelaide School of Medicine from October 2015 to June 2020. Prior to these roles, Ian Symonds was the Head of School of Medicine and Public Health and Dean of Medicine at the University of Newcastle from January 2011 to September 2015, and a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Hunter New England Local Health District from October 2004 to September 2015. Ian Symonds earned a Bachelor's degree in Medicine from the University of Nottingham.
