Glynn Barrish-Carroll has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. In 2001, they founded GIBC INC and RagRoyalty.com, where they offered design, product development, sourcing, and production expertise to major brands and retailers. In 2018, they shifted their focus to sustainable fashion and became a Sustainable Fashion Consultant, helping fashion and lifestyle designers and companies adopt sustainable practices. Glynn also served as a Governing Board Member for IMPACTFASHION.ÂÜÀòÂÒÂ×, curating a virtual Pop Up with ethically sourced and sustainable fashion and lifestyle brands. Additionally, Glynn has been an Ambassador for The Sustainable Procurement Pledge. Glynn worked as a Sustainable wardrobe and product consultant for a film and docuseries called "Sustaining" in 2021-2022, sourcing 100% sustainable sets. Prior to their focus on sustainable fashion, Glynn worked as a Sportswear Designer for Juniors at LA Movers dba Pandelco, where they managed sales teams, design rooms, and art departments. Glynn also worked as a Fundraiser/Volunteer for APDA, closely collaborating with the West Coast Director on events and fundraising efforts.
Glynn Barrish-Carroll has a diverse education history spanning several years. In 1970 to 1976, Glynn attended St Cyprians, Cape Town, where they obtained a matriculation degree. Following this, in 1977, Glynn briefly attended the University of Cape Town, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine and Studio Arts. In 1978 to 1979, Glynn enrolled at Cape Peninsula University of Technology, focusing on design and merchandising within the field of fashion. In 1980 to 1981, Glynn returned to Cape Peninsula University of Technology to pursue a degree in PRISA/Journalism, specializing in public relations and journalism.
More recently, in 2021, Glynn attended The Underswell School of Understanding, where they obtained a Certificate of Completion in Sustainability. Additionally, Glynn has acquired several certifications, including Design Thinking from Nomadic Learning in September 2022 and a Certificate: Elevating Equity from the same institution in August 2022. Furthermore, Glynn obtained a Certificate of Understanding-The Essentials from The Underswell School of Understanding for Sustainability in the Apparel Industry and completed a course on Helping Business Thrive in a Circular Economy from SAP, both in November 2021.
