Tony Bou Kheir has extensive work experience in the field of analytical development and research. Tony is currently serving as the Head of Analytical Development and QC at Purespring Therapeutics since 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult, where they held various roles including Head of analytical development, Lead Technical Scientist, and Senior Analytical Development Scientist from 2017 to 2021. Tony also worked as a Postdoctoral Research Assistant at Barts Cancer Institute from 2014 to 2017. Tony Bou Kheir gained research experience at Imperial College London as a Postdoctoral Research Associate, focusing on the study of nuclear receptor co-regulators in embryonic stem cells. Tony also worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Biotech Research & Innovation Centre (BRIC), University of Copenhagen, where they developed a detection method for 3' uridylated microRNAs and pursued their PhD training in the field of microRNAs and epigenetics. Tony Bou Kheir started their career as an Msc trainee at Institut de Génétique Moléculaire de Montpellier (IGMM).
Tony Bou Kheir has a strong educational background with degrees in various fields of study. Tony pursued their Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General from Saint Joseph University of Beirut, completing it in 2005. Following this, they continued their education at the same institution and obtained a Master of Science degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, finishing in 2007.
Shortly after, Tony Bou Kheir enrolled at Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen to pursue a higher level of education. Tony successfully obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in 2011, specializing in the field of Epigenetics - microRNAs.
In addition to their academic degrees, Tony Bou Kheir has also acquired an Executive Mini MBA Accelerator certification from In Professional Development (INPD) in October 2021.
