Eleanor McConnell is a seasoned healthcare professional with extensive experience in nursing and academia. Currently serving as a Senior Nurse Advisor and Senior Scholar at VA Quality Scholars since September 2018, Eleanor has also held the position of Associate Professor at Duke University since January 1996. Eleanor's work as a Core Investigator at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and a Clinical Nurse Researcher at the Geriatric Research, Education and Clinical Center since 1988 showcases a strong commitment to research and gerontological care. Prior to this, Eleanor contributed to the Program on Aging at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 1981 to 1990. Eleanor earned a PhD in Nursing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill between 1990 and 1995, and holds a Master of Science in Nursing, specializing in Gerontological Nursing, from Duke University.
