Providence Hall seeks a highly skilled and enthusiastic part-time elementary interventionist (non-SPED paraprofessional) to join our team. As an elementary interventionist (non-SPED paraprofessional), you provide classroom support to teachers by implementing math and reading interventions to individual students or small groups of students as part of our multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS).
Schedule:
About 28 hours/week during the school year on days when students are present
May need to attend some department, building, and LEA professional development, trainings and meetings
Responsibilities:
Consult and collaborate with teachers and the Assessment & Intervention Director to prepare reading and math interventions to meet the needs of individual students.
Assist teachers in diagnosing reading and math strengths/weaknesses and then align outcomes with techniques and materials to increase skills.
Work with the teacher to monitor student progress.
Implement math and reading interventions in small groups and one-on-one settings.
Efficiency use the various assessment platforms used at the school to interpret data for positive student outcomes.
Collaborate with colleagues to support the MTSS process and support the school in general.
Maintain effective communication channels with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative learning community.
Actively participate in assigned meetings, professional developments, and other trainings.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Previous experience working with children, in an instructional setting preferred.
Good organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
Positive interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to maintain calm in high-stress situations.
Willing to effectively problem-solving as needed.
Basic knowledge of Google Workspace and its collaboration tools.
Capacity to perform all the responsibilities listed in this posting.
Must pass a comprehensive background check, including criminal history, and professional references as a condition of employment.
Lift up to 25 pounds, traverse school facility, and lead students to safety in the event of an emergency.
