Matt Lucas is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in climate positive infrastructure and technology development. As the Managing Partner at Tuatara Development Capital since October 2022, Matt supports project developers through capital and operational services. Previously, Matt held various roles including Managing Director of Business Development and Advisor at New Energy Risk, focusing on technology performance risk for impactful projects. Contributions to Propel(x) as an Evaluation Contributor involve evaluating science and technology startups, while advisory roles at Carbon Direct and NovoNutrients leverage expertise in carbon removal and sustainable biotechnology. Additional experience includes leadership positions at Carbon180, where Matt advanced carbontech through stakeholder engagement and funding initiatives, as well as technical consulting and scientific roles in various startups. Matt holds a PhD and MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Harvard University.
