Liang Hu has worked in a variety of roles since 2012. Liang began as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, followed by a Graduate Research Assistant at Kansas State University from 2017-2020. From 2020-2022, they were a Postdoctoral Research Associate and Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Connecticut. Since 2022, they have been a Research Scientist at ProMab Biotechnologies, Inc. Previously, from 2015-2017, they were a Product Manager at TB Healthcare Group, where they had a good understanding of business operations, R&D procedures, product manufacturing, sales and marketing, customer services, etc. Liang also constructed plasmids encoding Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTb) proteins, and purified the proteins expressed in the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae for R&D purposes, as well as engaged in the R&D of novel MTb diagnostic instrument, ELISA and ELISpot kits, MTb protein microarray and human cytokine-related ELISA products. Liang also performed experiments in Guangzhou Chest Hospital evaluating efficiencies of the newly developed MTb diagnostic products for MTb detection using patient samples. Additionally, they assisted design of two final product lines and subsequent packaging solutions, generated two product user manuals, experimental protocols and customer service guidelines, collected and analyzed the product market information and potential target customers, created the product marketing strategies via cooperation with other related departments, and assisted the sales teams in the product marketing, customer consultation, technical services, etc.
Liang Hu is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Oncology and Cancer Biology at the University of Connecticut, which they expect to complete in 2022. Prior to this, they obtained a Master of Science in Preventive Veterinary Medicine from the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences between 2012 and 2015. Liang also obtained a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Medicine from Jilin University between 2007 and 2012.
