Bret Coldren, Ph.D. is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in pharmaceutical development and drug delivery systems. Currently serving as Vice President of Formulation and Delivery Sciences for Gene Editing at Ionis Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Bret leads a team focused on developing advanced nanoparticle delivery methods for various therapies, including mRNA and oligonucleotides. Previously, Bret held the role of Vice President of Pharmaceutical Development at the same company, overseeing drug product design and manufacturing for a mature pipeline of over 30 oligonucleotide programs. With prior experience as a senior scientist at Johnson and Johnson and Bayer Pharmaceuticals, along with co-founding Lipogene Technologies, Bret has a solid background in combination product development and project management. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from UC Santa Barbara and a BS in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University.
