Joshua Newton, PA-C has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Joshua started their career as a Project Engineer at Lockheed Martin, where they designed a planning system for controlling biomedical equipment on the space station. From there, they worked as a Micro Array Core Facility Coordinator at UNC Charlotte, where they managed the setup and operation of a microarray facility.

Joshua then pursued a career in healthcare, working as a Physician Assistant at Wake Forest School of Medicine and later at Health Partnership Clinic of Johnson County and Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas. In these roles, they provided acute and chronic care for various populations, performed in-office procedures, and contributed to optimizing and troubleshooting the clinics' EMR systems.

In 2013, Joshua joined Mountain Community Health Partnership as a Physician Assistant. Joshua played a crucial role in managing the clinic's EMR system, implementing the ICD-10 transition, and developing data mining and analytics capabilities for patient and disease population management. Joshua also served as the Medical Director, guiding the clinic through the COVID-19 pandemic and implementing various quality improvement initiatives.

Joshua's passion for healthcare innovation led him to co-found Pluritem Health, where they served as the Chief Medical Officer. Joshua was responsible for developing the company's strategic plan, governance structure, and objectives for practice management.

Joshua Newton, PA-C has a diverse education history in various fields. Joshua completed their Bachelor's degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Biology at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte from 1998 to 2003. In 2003, they pursued a PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology at Baylor College of Medicine. Later, in 2007, they obtained a Master's degree in Bioinformatics and Biology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

To further their medical education, Joshua attended the Wake Forest University School of Medicine from 2009 to 2011, earning a Master of Medical Science (MMS) degree in Physician Assistant (P.A.) studies. During their time there, they enhanced their nursing skills by completing a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA I) program at Central Piedmont Community College in 2008.

In addition to their formal education, Joshua has obtained several certifications to expand their medical expertise. Joshua received Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications from the American Heart Association | American Stroke Association in May 2014. Joshua also obtained a certification in VA Disability Physicals from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in May 2013.
