Robert W. Izett is an Ocean Technology Developer at Planetary since March 2023. Previously, Robert served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Dalhousie University from October 2021 to March 2023, and as a PhD Candidate at The University of British Columbia from September 2015 to June 2021, focusing on oceanography. Prior experience includes roles as a Data Analyst at Fisheries and Oceans Canada and Ocean Networks Canada in early 2015, evaluating ocean acoustics and sensor performance related to ocean acidification. Robert began academic research as an Undergraduate Research Assistant and BSc Honours Researcher at the University of Victoria from May 2012 to December 2014. Robert earned a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Biology and a Minor in Ocean Sciences from the University of Victoria in 2014.
