David Marvin is a seasoned expert in ecology with a robust background in climate change research and conservation technology. Currently serving as Product Lead for Forest Ecosystems at Planet since January 2023, David previously co-founded and led Salo Sciences, Inc. as CEO from November 2018 until its acquisition by Planet. David’s earlier roles include Climate Change Ecologist at The Nature Conservancy, where analytical tools were developed to assess climate policy impacts in California, and collaborative research at the Carnegie Institution for Science focused on tropical forest conservation. David holds a PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Michigan, where dissertation research examined climate change impacts on tropical forests, alongside extensive experience in research and development in various prestigious institutions.
