Smita Sahay is a seasoned consultant specializing in gender mainstreaming, communications, and capacity building within the development sector. Currently serving as a consultant at Plan India since May 2014, Smita focuses on gender mainstreaming in the organization's livelihoods project in Uttarakhand and Delhi. Additionally, Smita has extensive freelance experience, offering services in content creation, research, and program strategy development since 2002. Previous roles include communications consultant for various organizations such as Plan India and UNICEF, curriculum development and teacher training, and visiting lecturer. Smita's educational background includes a Master's degree in Spanish Studies from Doon University and a Master's degree in Applied Psychology from Annamalai University, complemented by ongoing professional development in Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning for Development.
