Lauren Pierce has work experience in the field of library services. Lauren started their career in 2013 at Galesburg Public Library, where they served as a Reference Librarian and NEA Big Read Coordinator until 2018. In 2018, they joined Plainfield Area Public Library as an Adult Services Librarian and later became the Head of Adult Services.

Lauren Pierce completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in History at St. Ambrose University from 2008 to 2011. Following this, they pursued a Master of Library & Information Science (MLIS) degree at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign between 2012 and 2013.
