Jason Murdoch has work experience in various roles and organizations. Jason started their career at the University of Sydney as a Student Services Advisor from November 2007 to November 2009. Jason then joined the Australian National University, where they were a Repository Services Coordinator from July 2010 to March 2012, and later became an Information Access and Training Officer from April 2012 to the present. Currently, Jason is working as a Research Associate at Perrett Laver since March 2023.

Jason Murdoch attended NSW State Conservatorium of Music High School from 1983 to 1988, where they completed their high school education. Jason then pursued a Bachelor's Degree in English Language and Literature, General at UNSW from 2002 to 2007. Finally, from 2013 to 2018, they attended RMIT University, where they earned a Graduate Diploma (with Distinction) in Information Management.
