Sophia Cope is a highly experienced legal professional specializing in media law and free speech advocacy. Currently serving as Senior Staff Attorney at the Electronic Frontier Foundation since November 2014, Sophia has previously held significant roles including Director of Government Affairs & Legislative Counsel at the News Media Alliance, where advocacy focused on free speech and digital media. Educational contributions include teaching Media Law & Ethics at Shepherd University and Communication Law at American University. Prior experience includes positions as Staff Attorney at the Center for Democracy & Technology and the First Amendment Project, where Sophia defended online free speech and litigated public interest cases.
