Andreas Eitel is a Senior Machine Learning Engineer (Computer Vision) at Parallel Domain since January 2023. In this role, they are responsible for establishing best practices on creating and using synthetic data for perception, developing perception algorithms, data pipelines, introspection tools, and domain adaptation approaches.
Prior to that, Andreas worked at Geospin from January 2021 to January 2023 as a Machine Learning Engineer (Location Intelligence). In this position, they built a feature store for ML using PostgreSQL, designed ML and ETL pipelines in Kubeflow and Kubernetes, and deployed ML models for real-time predictions in a React App.
From June 2014 to November 2020, Andreas served as a Scientific Research Staff (Doctoral Candidate) at Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg im Breisgau. During this time, they conducted research in robotics with a focus on deep learning and multimodal robot vision. Andreas wrote robot vision software for real robots in C++ and published nine papers in major robotics conferences, including one best paper award.
Andreas also had an internship at Porsche AG from September 2012 to February 2013.
Andreas Eitel obtained their Diplom-Ingenieur degree in Maschinenbau from the University of Stuttgart. Andreas completed this program between 2007 and 2014. Following this, they pursued a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Robotics, and Deep Learning from The University of Freiburg. Andreas successfully obtained their Dr. rer. nat. (Ph.D.) degree in this field between the years 2014 and 2020.
