Alex Hird is an experienced medicinal chemist currently serving as the Vice President of Medicinal Chemistry Design at Parabilis Medicines, focusing on advancing peptide therapeutics to clinical application since July 2024. Prior to this role, Alex was the Vice President of Chemistry at Photys Therapeutics, where efforts centered around targeted post-translational modifications for disease treatment from February 2022 to February 2024. Additional leadership positions include Senior Director and Head of Chemistry at Toran Therapeutics, Senior Director at C4 Therapeutics, and various roles at AstraZeneca, culminating in an Associate Director position over a span of nearly 14 years. Alex began a career in medicinal chemistry with a Research Associate role at GSK. Academic credentials include a PhD in Chemistry from Boston College and a BA/MSci in Natural Sciences, specializing in Chemistry from the University of Cambridge.
