Colonel Robert L. Allen, Strategic Operations, is a career law enforcement practitioner with over 38 years of professional experience. He has served in a variety of positions, since joining P.B.S.O. in 1983, giving him significant balance between road patrol, tactical operations, special operations, criminal investigations, homeland security and most recently executive staff.
He currently commands the Department of Strategic Operations for one of the largest sheriff’s offices in the United States, with approximately 4,000 employees and several thousand volunteers, serving a population of nearly 1.5 million residents. He oversees both the Strategic Investigations Bureau and the Homeland Security Bureau with over 800 personnel assigned. Those bureaus are responsible for overseeing major crime investigations including; homicides, robberies, gang crimes, human trafficking, traffic fatalities, air operations, special operations, including; SWAT, bomb, marine, canine, intelligence and numerous other homeland security initiatives.
Colonel Allen is member of the Regional Domestic Security Task Force Executive Board and has traveled extensively both domestically and internationally discussing security issues with experts from around the world.
Colonel Allen is married with one son, who is on active duty with the United States Army and has two grandchildren.
