Senior Software Engineer at Own Up

Liz Lorenz has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Liz started their career as a bookseller at Barnes & Noble College, where they provided customer service and worked in the textbook department. Liz then became a Textbook Coordinator at the Boston University Medical Center Bookstore, where they coordinated programs and anticipated demands. Liz also worked as a data-entry clerk, handling data entry and processing of contributions.

During their time at Grassroots Campaigns, Liz served as an Interim Daily Numbers Analyst and later as the Assistant Director of the Cashiering Department. In these roles, they supervised fundraising forms, managed staff, and reconciled discrepancies between departments.

Liz also gained experience as an Office Manager at BSG Team Ventures | Boston Search Group, providing support in various areas such as finance, human resources, and IT. Liz also worked as a Marketing Consultant at the same company.

At Seven Bridges, Liz served as an Office Manager, creating an environment conducive to productivity and creativity. Liz also worked as a Software Architect at Noteflight, contributing to the development of their software stack.

Most recently, Liz joined Own Up (formerly RateGravity) as a Senior Software Engineer. Liz helped found the technical team for marketing and is currently serving as the Technical Lead/Scrum Master. Liz'sresponsibilities include representing the team at stakeholder meetings, breaking down epics into user stories, and providing architectural and design direction.

Throughout their career, Liz has worked with various technologies such as JavaScript, TypeScript, React, AWS, GatsbyJS, and GitHub. Liz has experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and peer-reviewed pull requests.
