Oula is redesigning maternity care from the ground up. Our modern maternity centers combine the best of obstetrics and midwifery care to deliver a more evidence-based and personalized pregnancy experience. From our patient-centered medical team, welcoming clinic, and remote care platform, we are setting a new standard for pregnancy care that unifies modern medicine and human intuition. Our first clinic opened in Brooklyn in 2021. We’ve since opened a second clinic in downtown Manhattan with plans for more Oula clinics to come.

About the Role:

We are looking for a Licensed Midwife to join our growing maternity care practice. We’re searching for someone who is thoughtful and passionate about delivering patient-centric, judgment-free care, and is excited to join a dynamic and innovative team.


This is the perfect opportunity for a CNM/CM that is excited to expand their skill set and help define and build a new best-in-class maternity care experience. You will be responsible for delivering full-spectrum perinatal care, as well as helping to shape and refine Oula's clinical care model.

We are hiring for a both full time Midwife and Per Diem positions:

Full Time Expectations
This is a full-time position with a flex schedule including rotating on-call shifts (with protected post-call day off), approximately two office days per week, plus designated administrative & didactic time.

- This is a benefits-eligible position as part of a competitive compensation package that includes CME budget, malpractice coverage, and ancillary benefits.

Per Diem Expectations:

In order to maintain per diem status with Oula, you need to adhere to the following:

- Must have minimum availability to work a minimum of 20 hours per pay period when called on by Oula. This shift may be either an 8 to 10 hour clinic shift or a 24 hour inpatient shift. If Oula does not have a need for per diem coverage during a given pay period, then the clinician is not responsible for the minimum number of hours required.

- Estimated 80 maximum hours per pay period.

- Must be available to report to either Brooklyn Heights, Soho, or our inpatient partner Mount Sinai West

This per diem role is paid hourly at a range of $60-$85/hour based on clinical hours or active call.

Key Responsibilities:

-Provides full-scope midwifery care during pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum, in a variety of settings: at our Brooklyn and Downtown clinics, Mt. Sinai West hospital, and virtually.

-Collaborates with other team members (e.g., obstetricians, nurses, MAs, doulas, coordinators, therapists, etc.) to provide whole-person care.

-Communicates effectively with patients during and between appointments to ensure questions are answered and concerns are addressed by leveraging Oula’s technology. Able and excited to educate about and promote the midwifery model of care to current and prospective patients, with a focus on growing Oula's patient population.

-Works collaboratively with Oula’s product & engineering team to give feedback on the patient portal to create a more personalized, inclusive, and consistent approach to care.

-Uphold the core principles of reproductive justice to support principles of body autonomy, self determination and cultural respect.

- Are excited about realizing the Oula mission, and building the kind of collaborative practice that midwives and patients dream about.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

-Must have a LM licensure in the state of New York and certification by the AMCB as a Certified Nurse-Midwife or Certified Midwife.

-Experience caring for diverse communities with a wide variety of needs.

-Great professional reviews and reputation for providing exceptional patient care valued by your clients and colleagues.

-Experience with telemedicine or elements of virtual care.

- Any extra “bonus” skills or passions that will help us serve our patients (i.e. the ability to communicate with patients in their native language, passion for birth equity work, lactation certification, nutrition/diabetes training, etc.)

Oula offers a competitive total rewards package which includes base salary, and  comprehensive benefits. Exact compensation inclusive of salary and any bonuses is determined based on a number of factors including experience and skill level, location, and qualifications which are assessed during the interview process. Salary Range
$130,000—$140,000 USD
