Michael Mangan has extensive experience in research, machine learning, and robotics. Michael is currently working as the Research Director at Opteran, a position they have held since January 2023. Prior to this role, they worked as a Principal Research Engineer at Opteran from August 2021 to January 2023.

Before joining Opteran, Michael was a Senior Lecturer in Machine Learning and Robotics at The University of Sheffield starting in January 2021. Michael previously worked as a Lecturer in Machine Learning and Robotics at the same institution from April 2018 to December 2020.
