Herman Bernal is the Arizona State Safety & Security Oversight Manager at the Arizona Department of Transportation, overseeing safety and security of rail and bus transit systems in Arizona. Additionally, Herman is the Drug & Alcohol Program Manager at the same department, ensuring compliance with regulations on alcohol misuse and prohibited drug use in transit operations. Bernal also serves as the President of Arizona Operation Lifesaver, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting safety at highway-rail crossings and railroad tracks. Herman is also a member of the Transit Advisory Committee for Safety appointed by the US Secretary of Transportation.
