Anil Nair

Vice President, In Silico Sciences at OmniAb, Inc.

Anil Nair has extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. Anil is currently the Vice President of In Silico Sciences at OmniAb, Inc. since November 2022. Prior to this, they worked as an Adjunct Associate Professor of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Arizona, College of Pharmacy starting in April 2021.

From September 2016 to November 2022, Anil Nair served as the Vice President at Ligand Pharmaceuticals. Anil was a Member of Desert Angels from May 2015 to July 2020. For a brief period in 2016, they were a Director at Icagen.

Early in their career, Anil Nair worked for Sanofi in various roles. Anil was the Global Coordinator for Structure, Design, and Informatics from May 2013 to July 2016. Before that, they held the positions of Head of In Silico Drug Discovery (January 2011 to July 2016), Group Leader, Lead Research Investigator, Drug Design Group (January 2008 to December 2010), Group Leader, Principal Research Investigator, Drug Design Group (January 2005 to December 2007), and Senior Scientist in Computational Chemistry (February 2001 to December 2004).

Anil Nair's education history is as follows:

Anil Nair began their education journey by completing a Bachelor's degree in Physical Chemistry, earning an M. Sc. from Banaras Hindu University from 1985 to 1987. Anil then pursued further studies at the same university and obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Quantum Chemistry from 1988 to 1993.

After completing their Ph.D., Anil Nair joined Banaras Hindu University as a Research Associate from 1994 to 1996, further focusing on Quantum Chemistry.

In 1997, Anil Nair had the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and skills in the field of Computer-aided Drug Design as a UNIDO Fellow at the International Center for Science and High Technology in Trieste, Italy, under the sponsorship of UNIDO.

Subsequently, Anil Nair continued their education journey by pursuing a PostDoc degree in Computer-aided Drug Design at the University of Missouri-Saint Louis from 1998 to 2001.
