Carla Pegoraro PhD is currently the Division Editor for Physical Sciences and Engineering at the Public Library of Science (PLOS), a position held since November 2016. In this role, Carla leads the editorial vision and strategy, focusing on data-driven content recruitment, open science practices, and community engagement, while managing a team of in-house editors. Prior to this, Carla served as a Publishing Editor at the Royal Society of Chemistry, overseeing the publication process for multiple journals from October 2012 to November 2016. Carla's academic background includes a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from The University of Sheffield and a strong foundation in Biomedical Engineering from Università di Pisa, complemented by research experience on needle-free vaccinations in collaboration with prestigious institutions.
