Stephen Wedekind is an experienced data scientist currently serving as the Lead Machine Learning Data Scientist at Omitron Inc., where responsibilities include leading a team focused on automated sensor error calibration for orbital dynamics and developing custom data-driven sensor enhancement algorithms using Variational Gaussian Processes. Prior experience includes roles as a Graduate Research Scientist at the University of Denver, where Stephen invented pattern recognition techniques for galactic positions and developed computer vision methods for carcinoma detection, and served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. Stephen began their research career as an Undergraduate Research Scientist at the University of Missouri-Saint Louis, creating predictive models for bacterial evolution and designing MATLAB models for phase transition categorization.
