Carlos Pinto

Carlos Pinto has worked in a variety of roles in the field of Geographic Information Systems since 2010. Carlos began their career as a Geographic Information Systems Technician at Municípia, Empresa de Cartografia e Sistemas de Informação, E.M, S.A. in 2010, where they were responsible for editing spatial data, quality control, topological corrections, fieldwork with GPS, database management using SQL, cartography and remote sensing, assistance in project management and supervision. Carlos also participated in projects for the CTT - Correios de Portugal, SA and IFAP. In 2012, they worked as a Field Work Technician at Socarto – Sociedade de Levantamentos Topo-Cartográficos Lda. The same year, they also worked as a Research Fellow at Direcção-Geral do Território, where they were responsible for the improvement of the Land Use Chart of Portugal for 1995 and 2010 and the development of land use change matrices. From 2015 to 2017, they worked as a National Trainee - Remote Sensing Data Analysis at the European Space Agency, where they supported ESA activities in the field of Earth Observation information services sector and investigated the potential of specific EO products within the context of on-going ESA activities with users. From 2017 to 2018, they worked as a Project Analyst at both Ladar Ltd and G.M.S. Global Maritime Services Ltd. Carlos then worked as a Director at Ladar Ltd from 2018 to 2019 and is currently a Director at Offshore Navigation Ltd.

Carlos Pinto began their educational career in 2003 when they completed the Geographic Information Systems Technician level III program at the Professional School of Geographic Sciences. Carlos then went on to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Geography and Regional Planning at Universidade Nova de Lisboa which they completed in 2009. In 2008, they also completed a Training course in Land use classification of satellite images for spatial planning and environment. Finally, Carlos Pinto earned their Master's Degree in Territory Management with a Specialization in Remote Sensing and Geographic Information from Universidade Nova de Lisboa in 2012.
