Doney Alex is an experienced machine learning professional currently serving as a Principal ML Scientist at Nykaa, focusing on building recommendation and ad-tech systems since July 2022. Prior to this, Doney held the position of Lead Data Scientist at ShareChat from August 2019 to June 2022, where diverse AdTech problems, including clicks-cost prediction and reserve price optimization, were addressed, as well as deep learning applications on content in multiple Indian languages. Previous roles include Tech Lead of Machine Learning and Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Capillary Technologies from November 2016 to August 2019, contributing to AI solutions and computer vision projects in brick-and-mortar retail analytics, and Senior Engineer in Vision and Imaging at Ittiam Systems Pvt Ltd from July 2013 to November 2016, focusing on video codec development for the ARM platform. Doney holds a Master of Engineering in Signal Processing from the Indian Institute of Science and a Bachelor of Technology in Applied Electronics and Instrumentation from the College of Engineering Trivandrum.
