Tao Zhao is a Research Scientist at Meta since September 2019, focusing on developing software tools and services that support the Meta network for over three billion users, including efficient process automation for Optical and IP layer co-design. Prior experience includes a Graduate Research Assistant role at Texas A&M University, researching networked systems from September 2015 to August 2019, and a Software Engineer Intern position at Facebook in summer 2018, where contributions included building a modular simulator and performance evaluation of new policies. Additional internships involved community management at STARTEST TEC. and software R&D at Tongfang Info-sec, specializing in software defined radio and customized Linux systems. Tao Zhao holds a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from Texas A&M University and two degrees in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from Tsinghua University.
