Ruwan K Ratnayake is an experienced professional in the nuclear sector, currently serving in fuel reliability at the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) since April 2018 and as Lead of Fuel Performance at NuScale Power since February 2015. Prior roles include Lead and Advisory Engineer at Babcock and Wilcox, where responsibilities encompassed statistical methods and safety analysis, and Principal Engineer at AREVA, focusing on advanced data analysis and nuclear fuel testing. Ruwan commenced a career as a Research Associate at Purdue University, specializing in mathematical modeling and radiation detection. Academic credentials include a PhD in Thermal Hydraulics from Penn State University, a Master’s in Applied Mathematics from Texas Tech University, and dual Bachelor’s degrees in Chemical and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Peradeniya.
