Craig Young has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Craig currently holds the position of Delivery Director at SCX Special Projects, starting in October 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Ricardo plc, where they served as the Middle East Operations Director and Business Manager for Canada, from 2021 to 2023. In the past, they held various roles at Network Certification Body (NCB) from 2013 to 2021, including Head of Business Development, Programme Manager, Project, Planning and Resource Manager, and Senior Rail Vehicle Conformance Engineer. Before NCB, Craig worked at Network Rail from 2006 to 2013, where they held positions such as Training and Development Manager, Rail Vehicle Specification Engineer, Assistant Rail Vehicle Project Design Engineer, and Graduate. Their earliest work experience can be traced back to Stadco, where they worked as an Undergraduate Quality Engineer from 2004 to 2005.

Craig Young attended Rawlett School from 1994 to 2001, where they obtained their GSCE/A-LEVELS. In 2001, they enrolled at Coventry University and completed their Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) Hons degree in Automotive Engineering Design in 2006. Furthermore, Craig Young obtained additional certifications, including Lead Auditor from Pera in October 2014 and the title of Incorporated Engineer from the Institution of Mechanical Engineers in January 2011.
