Tharaka Basnayaka is an experienced photojournalist currently associated with NurPhoto Agency since March 2017 and has been contributing as a photographer to Bloomberg and Getty Images since 2018 and 2013, respectively. Additionally, Basnayaka serves as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Oklahoma and has held multiple roles including contributing photojournalist for Sri Lanka at REX Features and instructor of photojournalism at the Sri Lanka College of Journalism. Previous experience includes a staff photojournalist position at Ceylon Newspapers and contributions to Corbis and the Associated Press. Basnayaka's educational background includes a Master of Science in Mass Communication from Asia e University and a New Media Journalism program from the U.S. Department of State and the University of Oklahoma.
