Joseph Severini has worked at a variety of organizations since 2015. Joseph began their career as an Undergraduate Research Fellow in Chemistry at Northwestern University in 2015, followed by a similar role in Computer Science the following year. In 2017, they began their PhD studies at Carnegie Mellon University. In 2019 and 2020, they worked as a Research Intern at VMware. Most recently, in 2021, they began working as a Software Engineer II at Nuna Inc.

Joseph Severini completed their high school education at Warren Township High School from 2009 to 2013. Joseph then attended Northwestern University from 2013 to 2017, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, and the Integrated Science Program. Finally, they completed a Master's Degree in Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University from 2017 to 2021.
