Sarah Michael is an experienced communications professional currently serving as Deputy Chief of Staff and Director of Media and Communications for NSW Premier Chris Minns since March 2023. Prior to this, Sarah held the position of Senior Press Secretary for the NSW Opposition Leader from July 2021 to March 2023 and worked as a Senior Consultant and Consultant at Australian Public Affairs from September 2019 to July 2021. Sarah's career in government communications began in the Parliament of Australia, where roles included Press Secretary, Media Adviser, and Media Assistant for Hon Bill Shorten MP, as well as Communications Officer for Hon Tony Burke MP from July 2010 to May 2019. Educationally, Sarah holds a Master's degree in Communication from UNSW and a Bachelor of Arts in Australian History and Women and Gender Studies, also from UNSW.
