Erik Linden is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience in both the private and public sectors. Currently serving as the Senior Director of Employee Communications at NRG Energy since September 2014, Erik leads internal communications for approximately 5,000 employees and hosts the company's internal podcast, PowerChat. Prior to this role, Erik was the Director of Renewable Energy Communications at NRG and managed communications for the company’s Renewable Energy group. Earlier in the career, Erik held the position of Communications Director at the District of Columbia Department of Transportation and served as Senior Speechwriter for Mayor Anthony A. Williams, where responsibilities included crafting speeches and managing press interactions. Erik began the career as a Business/Finance Reporter at Silicon Valley Business Ink, covering the technology sector. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Journalism from Columbia University and a Bachelor’s degree in Literature from American University.
