Pinar Gunes is a Senior Geophysicist at Novamera Inc. since July 2023, with a strong background in academia and research. Previously, at the University of Toronto, Pinar served as a Basin Analysis-Researcher and Lecturer from January 2021 to July 2023, developing innovative teaching materials and effectively delivering course content. Prior experiences include a Postdoctoral Research Associate position at Memorial University of Newfoundland, contributing to the understanding of the Messinian Salinity Crisis, and a Ph.D. Research Fellow role focused on sedimentation and tectonics in the Eastern Mediterranean. Pinar also held internships at Equinor, where significant contributions were made to reservoir assessment and exploration prospect development. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Earth Science from Memorial University and an MS in Marine Geology and Geophysics from Dokuz Eylul University.
