Sepand Bafti began their career in 2015 as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant at the University of Iowa. In 2020, they joined Nortis as the Director of Biological Science and a Research Scientist.

Sepand Bafti obtained a Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology and Neurosciences from the University of Iowa in 2015. Sepand then pursued a Master of Science in Integrated Biology from the same university, which they completed in 2017. Subsequently, Sepand Bafti obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Biology from the University of Iowa in 2020.
