April Monkman has a diverse work experience. April started their career at Bell MTS in 1996 as a Senior System Analyst and worked there until March 2017. In April 2017, they joined Norima Consulting Inc. as a Senior System Analyst and transitioned to the role of Senior Consultant in May 2022. Concurrently, in June 2018, they also started working as a System Analyst Consultant at IG Wealth Management, where they stayed until November 2022.

April Monkman attended Red River College Polytechnic from 1994 to 1996, where they completed a degree in Computer Analyst/Programmer (CAP). Their field of study was focused on computer programming and analysis.
