Andrés Cao

Head Of Cargo Intelligence Solutions at Nexxiot

Andrés Cao has a diverse work experience that spans across various industries. Andrés started their career in 2012 as a Teaching Assistant in Circuit Theory at ITBA. In 2013, they worked as an Intern and a Teaching Assistant in Digital Signal and System Analysis at CIDEI - ITBA, where they conducted research and development projects and contributed to publications in the field of power converters.

In 2015, Andrés became an Assistant Professor - Automotive Mechatronic Systems at ITBA and also worked as a Supervisor of Railway Signaling and Communications Projects at Trenes Argentinos Infraestructura Ferroviaria. Andrés gained experience in teaching and project supervision during this period.

In 2016, Andrés joined Entrepreneur First as an Entrepreneur In Residence, where they participated in an intensive startup mentoring and coaching program, focusing on customer and market validation in the AgriTech and IoT sector.

In 2017, Andrés joined Nexxiot as an Embedded Engineer and later became the Embedded Software Team Lead, responsible for leading the development team and overseeing recruitment, process definition, architecture, design, and deployment. Currently, they hold the position of Head of Cargo Intelligence Solutions, where they manage end-to-end product management and ownership of new external sensors for cargo intelligence solutions at Nexxiot.

Andrés Cao completed their education with a Master's degree in Energy Science and Technology from ETH Zürich, where they studied from 2015 to 2017. Prior to that, they attended the Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires from 2012 to 2014 and obtained a degree in Electronic Engineering with a focus on Mechatronics and Control. Andrés also received a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the same institute, where they studied from 2008 to 2012. Lastly, they earned a High School Diploma in Economics and Business Management from Godspell College, where they attended from 1993 to 2007.
