Luis Canepari currently holds the position of Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Newmont Corporation, a role assumed in November 2012 after serving as Vice President and Chief Information Officer and Vice President of Technology following the acquisition of Goldcorp. Prior to Newmont, Luis was with AES from May 2005 to November 2012, where responsibilities included Director of Engineering and Construction, Director of the SAP Customer Competency Center, and Director of Information Technology Governance Risk and Controls. Previously, Luis worked at ExxonMobil from May 2000 to August 2003 as Team Leader of IT Infrastructure in Global Information Services. Educational qualifications include a recent program on Driving Digital Strategy from Harvard Business School in March 2024, an MBA from Georgetown University (2003-2005), and a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering from Universidad Metropolitana (VE) (1994-1999). Luis also attended Salisbury School for high school (1993-1994).
