Mijal Bitton is a skilled researcher and educator currently serving as a Fund Fellow at Maimonides Fund and a Field Builder with New Pluralists. Since 2016, Mijal has been a Visiting Researcher at New York University’s Wagner School of Public Service, leading the National Study of Sephardic and Mizrahi Jewish Americans and overseeing research initiatives, including an upcoming 2024 report. Additionally, Mijal co-founded and serves as the Spiritual Leader of Downtown Minyan, while also contributing as a Research Fellow at the Shalom Hartman Institute. Previous roles include serving as Lead Investigator for a qualitative research project at UJA-Federation of New York and holding fellowships at The AVI CHAI Foundation, the American Sephardi Federation, and the Memorial Foundation for Jewish Culture. Mijal holds a PhD in Education and Jewish Studies from New York University and a BA in Jewish/Judaic Studies from Yeshiva University.
