Daniel Bove

Director Of Performance & Athletic Development at New Orleans Pelicans

Daniel Bove has a strong background in sports science and performance, with experience in various roles within the field. Daniel most recently worked as the Director of Sports Science and Performance for the New Orleans Pelicans, where they focused on integrating sports science, strength and conditioning, and motor skill development to improve athlete health and performance. Prior to that, they served as the Director of Performance for the Phoenix Suns, overseeing strength and conditioning and sports science initiatives. Daniel also worked as an Assistant S&C Coach/Sports Scientist for the Atlanta Hawks, where they collected and analyzed performance science data and physically prepared NBA players for the regular season. Additionally, Daniel co-founded The Strength Cave and worked as a Fitness Coach for CrossFit Center City. Daniel has a strong academic background, having served as a Graduate Assistant/Performance Laboratory Supervisor at the University of South Florida and as an Athletic Performance Coach (Volunteer) at Penn State University.

Daniel Bove completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Kinesiology from Penn State University between the years 2008 and 2012. Daniel then pursued further education and obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Exercise Science from the University of South Florida, studying from 2014 to 2016.

In addition to their formal education, Daniel has also earned several certifications. In 2014, they obtained the Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Daniel also obtained CPR/AED certification from Red Cross Blood Services in November 2014. In January 2016, they received the Corrective Exercise Specialist certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). Additionally, in July 2016, they completed the Myokinematic Restoration course from the Postural Restoration Institute.

In April 2019, Daniel obtained the Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). Daniel also holds the Crossfit LV-1 certification from CrossFit, Inc., which they obtained in February 2012.

Although Daniel has mentioned two other certifications, Postural Respiration and Sports Performance Coach, information regarding when and where these certifications were obtained is not available.
