Sergey Nikolenko has a long history of working in the field of AI. Sergey began their career in 2008 as a Senior Researcher at the Steklov Mathematical Institute. Sergey then moved to the St. Petersburg Academic University of the Russian Academy of Sciences in the same year, where they held the roles of Adjunct Professor and Senior Researcher. In 2011, they became Research Director at Surfingbird. From 2013 to 2017, they were Assistant Professor at National Research University - Higher School of Economics and Chief Research Officer (CRO) at Neuromation. In 2015, they also took on the role of Senior Researcher at Deloitte. In 2017, they began working as Assistant Professor at Saint Petersburg State University. In 2019, they became the Head of AI at Synthesis AI. In 2022, they took on the role of AI Evangelist at SoMin.ai.

Sergey Nikolenko obtained their M.Sc. in Mathematics from Saint Petersburg State University between 2000 and 2005. Sergey then went on to earn their Ph.D. in Mathematics from Steklov Mathematical Institute, St. Petersburg between 2005 and 2008.
