Djura Smits is a seasoned research engineer at the Netherlands eScience Center since March 2020 and has been a data scientist at Smits Analytics since August 2017. Previous roles include data engineering positions at ING Nederland, Eonics, Sanoma NL, and Nationale Databank Wegverkeergegevens between 2016 and 2020, as well as a Java developer role at Panasonic Cameramanager. Educationally, Djura Smits holds a Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence and a Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Amsterdam, coupled with a Gymnasium degree from de Nassau, Breda. An internship at TNO involved modeling pedestrian behavior, contributing to a broad background in data science and engineering.
